New Moon in Virgo
Every New Moon is an opportunity to reassess and begin again. Connecting with the energy of the New Moon, is connecting with the void, with the womb space, with the place where the seeds of creation are planted. These seeds of creation come from you, from your intentions, from your deepest longings.
By getting clear on your intentions during this phase of the moon, you are connecting your personal power to the power of the moon, which is in turn amplifying your connection to, and assistance from, the power of the cosmos. Pretty cool right?!
Virgo is an earth sign. Think of the qualities of earthiness- physical health, groundedness, practicality, the physical, tangible world. A good analogy for the energy of this sign is the work that goes into harvesting a crop. Any gardener must first have an intention for what they want to grow, then take the time to till the earth, plant the seeds, and care for the plants as they grow to fruition in order to have a healthy crop. If I get a handful of seeds and throw them anywhere and ignore them, it’s unlikely that they’ll grow into a beautiful, abundant crop of food. The same is true of your dreams and intentions. This Virgo New Moon is a terrific time to tap into, and plan, the crop you’d most like to harvest and how you’ve been tending it.
This is a terrific time to look back on what you wanted to create this year back in January. Did you set goals and intentions? How are you doing with them? What is going well for you and where are you getting stuck? We are ¾ of the way into our year and it’s a powerful time to take stock.
IMPORTANT- Looking at how far you’ve come in manifesting your dreams plus the Virgo New Moon energy combined can doubly illuminate the ways in which you feel you are not good enough, not as good as, etc. A dark side of the moon of Virgo is perfectionism. Allow these feelings to come! Look them dead in the eye and know they are just your fear of showing up. Slowing down to witness your fear can be super informative. Look at your fear, at your excuses for not doing what you want to do, and then use the organizing and detail oriented power of Virgo to make a plan as to how you will work around that fear.
For example, I’ve been wanting to lead a workshop on intuition. It’s been on my radar this whole year but I keep coming up with excuses not to do it. When I tap into the truth of why this intention has yet to come to fruition, I see that my fear of speaking in front of people has been holding me back. Knowing this, I have made a Virgoan plan of doable steps to bring this dream to life. I have a plan to contact the venue where I’d like to hold my workshop, set a date, and release the information out to the public so that there’s little chance I’ll back out. I looked at my dream, saw my fear, and made a plan of doing it anyway. This is Virgo energy.
And lest we forget why we push ourselves to fulfill dreams in the first place, remember, the fulfillment of our dreams is meant to bring us joy. We want to have bountiful harvests for ourselves, and for the people we care about. Doing so takes a little consideration, planning, and a lot of chutzpah! Taking a little bit of time during this New Moon to assess how your garden is growing, and what it needs in order to produce a healthy crop, then making a clear plan of steps to take, is how you can harness the natural energies already in play around you to assist you in the fulfillment of your personal dreams and goals.
May your garden be bursting with goodies this year!
Love,
Carrie
